HFOS · Human Function Operating System

The Human Function Operating System (HFOS) is Movetips' architecture for professional human-function computation and services. It brings together the shared semantics of UOHF, whole-person modeling research in HFWM, the reasoning discipline of Human Function Intelligence, and applications and education for professionals. The objective is to connect assessment, planning, execution, feedback, and reassessment rather than treating them as isolated files.

What “operating system” means here

HFOS is not a claim to replace Windows, iOS, Android, or a device kernel. “Operating system” here refers to an application and service infrastructure centered on human function: consistent semantic objects, professional workflows, authorized context, ongoing records, tools, permissions, evidence, feedback, and a proposed basis for interoperability with other systems.

Different components, different responsibilities

UOHF defines shared concepts and semantic boundaries. HFWM studies an evolving computational counterpart of the whole person. Human Function Intelligence investigates reasoning and justified decisions. HFOS organizes these capabilities in an environment that professionals can use. They are connected but not interchangeable. A chat application alone is not a world model, and an ontology alone does not amount to a completed whole-person simulator.

Movetips Manager App: the professional entry point

The Movetips Manager App and its Human Function AI Workbench are the professional application interfaces within HFOS. The workflow follows Profile → Assessment → Judgment → Program → Execution → Feedback → Reassessment → Report. Authorized records establish the service subject; assessment gathers relevant observations; judgment connects demands, capacities, engagement, and uncertainty; programs and execution organize intervention and training; feedback and reassessment track change; reports place conclusions in a longitudinal context. Feature availability depends on the deployed release and the user's professional permissions.

Three chats, three different responsibilities

FREE is for general knowledge, exploratory questions, and reference advice. LEARNING supports courses, case-based practice, simulations, and examinations. MEMBER_SERVICE is tied to authorized members and supports real assessment, service programs, execution records, and longitudinal management. Although they may share technical foundations, exploratory or simulated conversations cannot bypass governance to create confirmed member-service facts.

Why professional education belongs in the system

Software alone cannot produce consistent function-based service. Professionals need a shared language and a method for understanding demands, capacities, engagement, evidence, risk, intervention, and reassessment. Human-function education can help them understand why a recommendation is proposed, how it should be checked, and where their professional responsibility lies. Training records, simulations, and real member-service records remain separate.

Toward a future human-function protocol

A long-term HFOS direction is to investigate an interoperable human-function protocol for appropriately authorized clinical, rehabilitation, movement, wearable, and personal AI systems. A meaningful specification would need typed objects, identity and consent, state and event semantics, provenance, time, versioning, security, mapping, and conformance tests compatible with existing standards where applicable. This is an aspiration requiring design, validation, and adoption, not an existing globally mandated protocol.
